New production from oil fields in Vietnam combined with further successful drilling in Thailand buoyed revenues at Soco International, the oil exploration group, as it targets new development opportunities in Africa.

On average over the six-month period to June 30, Soco produced 6,734 barrels of oil a day, split between Vietnam and Thailand.
