Moscow plays role in trying to resolve Iran nuclear dispute

Russia is playing an important role in attempts to prevent a crisis over Iran's nuclear programme, in the run-up to a meeting between European foreign ministers and an Iranian delegation next week.

Moscow's role is particularly significant because of its existing nuclear co-operation with Iran and because of Russia's veto in the United Nations Security Council.
