Russia attacked over policies and rights

Russian President Vladimir Putin was dealt a double blow yesterday as his former prime minister lambasted his policies and the European Court of Human Rights found Russian authorities guilty of human rights offences in Chechnya.

The criticism came on the day Mr Putin met George W. Bush in Bratislava, facing questions from the US president about his commitment to democracy and free speech.
