BAE set for most of £3.5bn carrier contract

BAE Systems is set to emerge as the biggest winner from a new agreement to divide "roles and responsibilities" on the multi-billion pound project to build two aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy.

While Britain's biggest defence company has not won back the cherished prime contractor role on the £3.5bn project that it lost last year, it is poised to take charge of the lion's share of work on the carriers.
