Yell hits record low on warning of an advertising decline

Yell was hit by heavy selling again yesterday after a US rival reduced its earnings forecast because of the weakening domestic economy.

Shares in the Yellow Pages publisher dropped 11.2 per cent to a record low of 242½p after RH Donnelley warned of an advertising sales decline in the mid-single digits in 2008.
