A year after Jörg Haider, Austria’s most prominent right-wing demagogue, died in a car accident while drunk and speeding on a narrow mountain road, the far right is on the rise again.
However, it is not Mr Haider’s former group of nationalists from his home province of Carinthia that is scaring the mainstream parties, but the more radical Freedom Party from which Mr Haider broke away three years before his death.
