US acts to curb Iranian nuclear progress

The US on Wednesday announced measures against a network of companies it accuses of helping Iran with its nuclear programme and with weapons used against US troops.

The moves, co-ordinated by the departments of Treasury, Justice and Commerce, are centred on the Mayrow General Trading Company. The Dubai-based export-import group has already been blacklisted by the US for allegedly providing Iran with technology for improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan and Iraq.
