Kosovo drive to privatise opens up a can of worms

Between modest hills in the heart of Serbia's breakaway province, Kosovo, lies the grassy expanse of the Drenica valley.

Unfinished houses dot a sparsely populated landscape where men and animals rest in fallow fields. Groups of teenagers, members of Kosovo's new Albanian baby boom generation, loiter by a roadside.
