Best practice: Vodafone

Last autumn, Vodafone’s UK operation became the world’s first mobile network to gain the BS25999 certification for business continuity. Since then, it has gained certification for both its 3G voice network, and its mobile broadband service.

In order to gain the certifications, Vodafone had to prove to BSI, the standards body, that its network could cope with incidents such as a power failure or natural disaster, and that its business continuity planning followed best practice.
