Brussels to toughen rules on lobbyists

Lobbyists seeking to do business in the European Union face tougher rules, as part of a new wave of regulation being introduced by the European Parliament, following scandals in the US.

The European Commission has already established a register for those wanting to influence debate on European legislation and MEPs are expected to improve their own rules.
