Ukraine wins key energy funding

Ukraine is to receive $1.7bn (€1.2bn, £1bn) to help pay for energy reforms and secure sup- plies of Russian natural gas to Europe. The European Bank for Recon- struction and Development said it could provide $300m for immediate working capital and up to $450m in 2010 for investment. Another $500m and $450m could come from the World Bank and European Invest- ment Bank respectively.
