Officials warn on Iran's nuclear plans

Government officials have warned that the diplomatic process aimed at ending Iran's nuclear ambitions is at risk of breakdown, after a threat from Tehran to resume its nuclear activities in defiance of western demands.

The issue of nuclear proliferation has risen to the top of Tony Blair's foreign policy in-tray during the election campaign. It will require the attention of the prime minister, whoever he is, immediately after the election.
