May Gurney ready for spending cuts

Essential public spending on roads, street lighting and waste disposal has buoyed revenue at May Gurney, keeping the infrastructure group on track for a 10 per cent rise in interim pre-tax profits.

In a trading statement, the company, which maintains more than 37,000km of roads throughout the UK, said it remained confident of its prospects for the year.
