Trust tax row jeopardises City’s good will

The row over the taxation of trusts is a blow for a government that is keen to proclaim its close relations with the City of London.

Law firms have stopped writing wills while insurance companies have stopped the sale of many life assurance policies after it emerged that millions of people could be affected by the changes and not just the 20,000 or so forecast by the Treasury.
