After the most violent 12-month period since the Taliban were forced from power in 2001, the Afghan people are losing faith in the future of their country, the largest opinion poll conducted in Afghanistan has found.
Just 42 per cent of the 6,263 adults questioned nationwide said the country was moving in the right direction and almost a quarter felt the situation was deteriorating, according to research by the Asia Foundation, a US-based development charity.
