Actavis plays down sale rumours

Actavis, the Icelandic generic drugs business, has played down the prospects for a swift sale of the company after its billionaire Icelandic owner lost money this month as the country’s banking system collapsed.

Gudbjorg Edda Eggertsdottir, deputy chief executive, told the Financial Times that a deal in the short term was unlikely and all options remained open.
