Partial reprieve lifts William Ransom

Shares in William Ransom regained some of the value lost last week after regulators gave the UK’s oldest pharmaceutical company a partial reprieve from concerns of contamination at one of its factories in Essex.

The Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency had found bacterial contamination of the purified water supply used in the manufacturing of certain products during a routine inspection. Following representations by Ransom, a recall of its brands is no longer required.
