Lookers outperforms as new car sales shine

Orders for new cars in one of the UK’s key sales months were stronger than in 2006, Lookers said as the vehicle dealer gave evidence that it was continuing to outperform its rivals.

“Our order book for September is well ahead of last year,” said Ken Surgenor, chief executive, after Lookers pushed pre-tax profits up 41 per cent during the first half.
