European plan to cut red tape

The European Commission has drawn up even more ambitious plans to reduce the administrative costs for businesses.

The new proposals,
which include exempting micro businesses from accounting obligations and allowing more electronic filing of paperwork, would save companies about €40.4bn (£36.6bn) on an estimated €124bn administrative cost for 72 key pieces of EU legislation. However, the proposals still might not be implemented
