Ford switches Mexico truck plant to Fiestas

Ford Motor plans to convert its truck assembly plant in Mexico to produce the North American version of its new Fiesta small car.

The project is the centrepiece of a $3bn investment – the biggest-ever in Mexico’s car industry. The Detroit-based carmaker also plans to build a transmission plant in a joint venture with Germany’s Getrag.
