Intel admits shortage of Atom chips

Intel has admitted to shortages of its latest Atom microprocessor as manufacturers scramble to compete in the “netbook” category.

The world’s biggest chipmaker is expected to feature Atom at the Computex PC trade show in Taipei, where Sean Maloney, Intel executive vice-president, is to deliver the opening keynote speech on Tuesday.
