DaVita pays $3bn for Gambro's US clinics

Gambro, the Swedish medical technology group controlled by the Wallenberg family, yesterday confirmed the sale of its US dialysis clinics business to DaVita and also unveiled a far-reaching strategic alliance with its former rival.

DaVita, based in California, will pay a total of $3.05bn in cash for Gambro's US business, which includes 565 clinics serving 43,200 patients across the country.
