Wind farm powers nappy plant

Procter & Gamble's paper and nappy manufacturing plant in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania, is one of the company's largest US facilities. By the end of next year, it hopes it will get half its electricity from a nearby wind farm being developed by BP Alternative Energy.

At its laundry plant in Lima, Ohio, P&G has signed a 10-year contract to take synthetic natural gas from a new 540MW power plant that will use emerging coal gasification technology.
