Sony to give consoles multimedia capacity

Sony on Thursday announced a slew of add-ons for its PlayStation 3 and PSP consoles, offering consumers a glimpse of their full capability.

In moves that effectively transform the consoles into multimedia products, Sony said it would introduce a device for the PS3 that will allow it to act as a digital TV tuner and recorder, and unveiled software that will enable PSP users to make video and voice calls.
