Services decline four months in row

Activity in Britain’s key services sector declined for the fourth successive month in August, albeit at a much slower pace than earlier this year, according to the latest UK Services PMI Index.

The Purchasing Managers’ headline index reading rose to 49.2 from 47.4 but remained below the 50.0 reading which shows that activity is unchanged.
