Contract awards boost Balfour Beatty

A good run of contract wins in infrastructure and government-funded projects helped Balfour Beatty offset the worst of the slowdown in the global construction industry, the company said on Wednesday.

In spite of falling activity in residential and commercial building work, the UK’s largest infrastructure group said its order book remained strong, boosted by its acquisition of Parsons Brinckerhoff earlier this year.
