Evolution sees sharp upturn

The sharp upturn in profitability of the UK’s mid-sized investment banks was underlined by first-half results at Evolution on Friday, which showed that group underlying profits had more than doubled.

A 93 per cent year-on-year increase in income from Evolution’s investment banking division, helped it lift underlying profits to £9.1m from £4.5m in the same period last year.
