Investors from Mexico and Austria are backing the launch of Jet Republic, a start-up business jet venture aimed at taking advantage of the rapid expansion in demand for private jet travel in Europe.

It is being launched, however, amid growing signs that the growth in demand for executive jets has started to slow in the face of the turmoil in financial markets and weakening economic activity in particular in Europe and the US.
