Euro falls as ECB warns about growth

The euro dropped to a one-year low against the dollar and a two-year trough against the yen on Thursday after the European Central Bank sounded a warning over eurozone growth.

The alert came after the ECB kept interest rates on hold at 4.25 per cent Jean-Claude Trichet, ECB president, revealed that the central bank had considered cutting interest rates.
