BNP message chimes with disaffected of Barking

The preponderance of St George’s flags trailing from cars and hanging from house windows in Barking, east London, has more to do with the World Cup than local elections. But this is an area plainly keen to proclaim its national identity.

“I’m voting BNP,” states 32-year-old single mother Deborah Pitts proudly. “There are too many immigrants now.”
