Barclays Capital has hired a team of healthcare investment bankers from Bear Stearns, the defunct investment bank that is now part of JPMorgan Chase. The move continues an exodus of talent from Bear that also saw a pair of senior credit bankers leave for the hedge fund Tudor Investment Corp.
Barclays, which has been growing its US investment banking business, has hired Pat McMullan, former co-head of healthcare banking at Bear, as well as Ben Adams and Frank Williams, senior managing directors on Bear's healthcare team. Barclays has also hired Kevin Clarke, former chief financial officer at Kos Pharmaceuticals, who worked at Bear for 14 years.
