Fridman stands in as TNK-BP chief

Mikhail Fridman, the chairman of TNK-BP, will take over as interim chief executive of the Anglo-Russian joint venture until shareholders agree on a permanent candidate for the post.

Mr Fridman, who made his fortune in oil and banking, is one of a group of three Russian oligarchs who control 50 per cent of the TNK-BP joint venture through their Alfa-Access-Renova consortium.
