Election hopes spur Indian rally

Indian stocks outperformed the rest of the Asia-Pacific region this week as optimism about the results of the month-long election spurred a rally on Friday, bringing the index to its tenth consecutive weekly gain.

But the BSE Sensex in Mumbai had a bumpy week as the election came to a close and investors worried about whether the results would produce a weak coalition.
