Russian funds re-open after stocks plunge

Twelve Russian equity funds domiciled in Luxembourg were temporarily suspended earlier this month, as managers dealt with the closure of Moscow’s main exchanges.

On September 17, the Russian government halted trading on the RTS and Micex exchanges in a bid to avoid a financial crisis. Stock markets had been registering record declines. It appears some mutual funds were taken aback by the move and decided to stop investors withdrawing their money.
