The Week in Technology: Kazaa pays up

The recorded music and film industries reached an agreement with Sharman Networks which sees the owner of the popular Kazaa file-sharing programme paying more than $100m to settle a legal over piracy carried out via its software.

Sharman Networks, the Australian-headquartered owner of Kazaa, said it would also begin selling music legitimately.
