The past year has been pretty grim for the investment industry in Asia and beyond, but hedge fund managers have been surveying the new financial landscape, and identified some of the opportunities that have appeared.

“The dislocation in value is unprecedented,” says Mark Fuchs, the chief executive and investment officer of Fuchs Capital Partners based in Singapore. Formerly head of equities for Credit Suisse in south-east Asia, he is now in the final stages of launching his own Asia long-short hedge fund.
