Porsche chief heads towards showdown

Wendelin Wiedeking, Porsche chief executive, will this week face a boardroom showdown that could end the debt-ridden carmaker’s independence and his career as one of the world’s highest-paid managers.

At a supervisory board meeting on Thursday, Mr Wiedeking will present a rescue proposal for Porsche that envisages an investment by the Qatar Investment Authority.
