Shia Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said on Sunday that ‘’weapons should be in the hands of the government’’ and ‘’we should put an end to militias,’’ while US President George W. Bush earlier dubbed them ‘’the main challenge’’ for Iraq’s new leaders.
