The Avenue, Sark’s main shopping street, is having a makeover. The semi-derelict shacks on its north side are being transformed into craft workshops, and a former café is earmarked for conversion to a wine bar to match London’s smartest.
Half a mile to the west, the abandoned Beauregard hotel has been demolished, to be rebuilt as a luxury five-star establishment with a nine-hole golf course. Ten minutes’ walk away, La Moinerie hotel, a complex of attractive stone buildings, is being renovated for its spring opening as a restaurant and oyster bar.
