Siemens offers $800m to settle US allegations over corruption

Siemens has offered to pay about $800m to settle allegations that it breached anti-corruption laws in the US, in a move that could lead to the largest fine for a company accused of overseas bribery.

The German conglomerate, which has been dogged by a two-year corruption scandal, made the offer in documents filed in a US court yesterday.
