Boeing profits hurt by strike action

Boeing’s profits fell heavily in the third quarter under the impact of the seven-week strike, which has halted all deliveries of commercial aircraft since early September.

The US aerospace and defence group said it expected to provide financial support, possibly totalling about $1bn, to some airlines taking delivery of jets next year as access to other sources of finance became more difficult.
