Luxury collections: Past riches inspire bespoke pieces

Any brand worthy of its luxury tag knows the value of an archive. So it should come as little surprise that most brands, asked to name their current “must-have” pieces, point to designs inspired by their own archives.

At Van Cleef and Arpels, for instance, a history with the ballet choreographer George Balanchine has inspired a new collection, Ballet Precieux, which is due to launch on November 23.
