Thomas T Riley has been appointed managing director of Savvis International, the IT services company, to boost revenues in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Mr Riley, once US ambassador to Morocco, focusing on economic development, has headed several Silicon Valley and European technology companies, including Unity Systems, TRW, Web State and ActivePhoto. He began his career in engineering with Boeing.
