Group knocked out of Gatwick bid

The consortium led by Citi Infrastructure Investors was ejected from the final stages of the contest to take over London Gatwick, the UK’s second largest airport, because its bid was too low.

Lysander Gatwick Investment, consisting of Citi Infrastructure Investors, Canada’s Vancouver Airport Services and John Hancock Life Insurance of the US, bid about £1.18bn, according to sources close to the group.
