Sentiment in commodity markets remained fragile yesterday but a rally in oil prices helped steady base and precious metals which had come under renewed pressure earlier in the session.

Oil prices recovered from early weakness and built significant upward momentum after the latest US inventories data provided much for traders to ponder.
