Banks: Licence to print money expires

For years, running a bank in Australia has been a licence to print money.

With the home economy growing for 15 years, there has been little reason to take big risks overseas. That has left the sector sitting pretty: profits mostly continue to grow in low double-digit percentages and non-performing loans are among the lowest in the region.
