Sony Ericsson’s US president steps down

Najmi Jarwala, president of Sony Ericsson’s US operations, will leave the joint venture mobile phone maker at the end of this month “to pursue other career opportunities,” the company said.

Sony Ericsson, jointly owned by Japan’s Sony Electronics and Ericsson of Sweden, emphasised that Mr Jarwala’s decision to step down after more than three years in the job was his own and had nothing to do with the joint venture’s recent performance or a profit warning issued last week.
