UK union says Magna plans to switch vans to Russia

The German-led deal to rescue Opel/Vauxhall hit a fresh snag on Friday after its British union accused lead investor Magna International of planning to move van production from General Motors’ plant in Luton, north of London, to Oleg Deripaska’s Gaz Group in Russia.

“This is a stitch-up,” said Tony Woodley, joint general secretary of Unite. “We could see vans go to Gaz.”
