Europe’s top court has thrown out a previous lower court decision which annulled Brussels’ go-ahead for the merger between Sony and the Bertelsmann record labels.

The latest twist to the long-running legal saga has no immediate consequences for the companies, but it will be seen as vindication for the European Commission.
