Competitors and former investors in Northern Rock have filed a stream of complaints with European antitrust regulators, who are looking into the legality of the government’s restructuring aid package for the stricken mortgage lender.

The European Commission had asked for comments from third parties on the proposed restructuring to be submitted by Thursday night.
